ABANDONED 1982-1986

Former Pennsylvania Railroad main line from Columbus to Chicago, also handling passenger trains between Chicago and Cincinnati and Louisville. Within Chicago, the line actually formed a belt around the city's south and west sides. While passenger trains gradually were shifted to the SC&S Branch between Colehour Jct. and Bernice, and the former Pennsylvania Railroad Fort Wayne main line between Chicago Union Station and Colehour Jct. The last passenger trains via the original route were discontinued in 1927.
