The CSX (former Baltimore & Ohio) line, and the Pennsylvania Railroad Panhandle line ran parallel, with the latter railroad paralleling on the west side north of here, and on the east side south of here. The two lines crossed and switched places here. The Pennsylvania Railroad line was abandoned in the 1980's. The Grand Trunk Western line crossed over on a bridge, prior to elevation in 1902 all three railroads crossed a grade.

BEVERLY JCT. (Tower B)

Former crossing with Baltimore & Ohio passenger main line. These two lines paralleled each other from the north, with Baltimore & Ohio on the west side. From here the Baltimore & Ohio line turned east and joined the Rock Island Beverly Branch for trackage rights. Baltimore & Ohio passenger trains were discontinued May 1, 1971, with the creation of Amtrak.

Junction involving Pennsylvania Railroad Panhandle line running southeast to northwest, CSX (former Baltimore & Ohio Chicago Terminal) running from east to northwest, the Indiana Harbor Belt running from east to west, and Union Pacific (former Chicago & Eastern Illinois) running north and south. Pennsylvania Railroad originally operated the tower, which was constructed to parallel that railroad. But in 1996, control was transferred to Indiana Harbor Belt.
BERNICE

Closed 1939, remotely controlled from Maynard
Former junction with SC&S Branch. Around 1967, remote control moved from Maynard to Hartsdale. While main line was basically abandoned in 1986, trackage remained until 1994 between Bernice and Air Line, along with SC&S Branch. Trackage had remained for Amtrak trains connecting with Monon route.
