LA SALLE STREET STATION

Main intercity passenger routes out of Chicago.

Links to "railfan timetable" information for present railroads, whether successor Amtrak service or freight only, along with information on abandoned routes. Also included are current or "classic" track diagrams.

Station was jointly owned by Rock Island and New York Central. All trains used jointly owned line south to Englewood. Only the former Rock Island continues to use this route, now operated by Metra. Rock Island was liquidated, with trackage acquired by several railroads including Iowa Interstate outside the Chicago area. While much of the former New York Central trackage eventually became part of Norfolk Southern.

Passenger service discontinued 1978, has existed independent of Amtrak.

Trains used above route between Chicago and Englewood, then jointly owned.

Passenger service discontinued via this route in 1968, after which trains began using paralleling former Pennsylvania Railroad, using Union Station.

Passenger service discontinued 1957.

Schneider-Danville - Kankakee Beaverton & Southern (portions abandoned)

Nickel Plate

Trains used above route between Chicago and Brookline, southeast of Englewood.

Passenger service discontinued 1965.
