Was a double track line with single direction ABS, until downgrading around 1980's.

Junction south of Milwaukee with Milwaukee Subdivision. Historically, the present Kenosha Subdivision was the passenger route serving downtown Milwaukee, while the Milwaukee Subdivision was the freight route connecting with a belt line around Milwaukee.

WASHINGTON STREET (Milwaukee)

Former junction with Madison Division line, which at that location crossed Milwaukee Road main line. The Milwaukee Road crossing was originally a separate mechanical interlocking operated by Milwaukee Road. The Chicago & North Western interlocking was originally known as Allis. The consolidated electric interlocking was controlled by Chicago & North Western. In 1966, when Chicago & North Western closed its passenger station in Milwaukee, passenger trains began connecting here for access to the Milwaukee Road station.
