Previously used Main Street Station until the late 1930's, with Hull Street station an intermediate stop.
Until early 1940's, Southern Railway passenger trains continued further east of Richmond to West Point.
Amtrak initially vacated Main Street Station in 1972. And the station went unused, until renovation for Amtrak's return to the station in 2004.
Hull Street Station has been preserved, restored as a museum for the National Railway Historical Society.
