Until late 1930's, Southern Pacific passenger trains also operated via the Oakdale Branch.
Amtrak trains between the Santa Fe line and Sacramento switch railroads via a connecting track at the northeast quadrant of Stockton Tower. And Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) trains use the WP line south of Stockton, but switch between the WP and SP lines south of Stockton Tower. Both of these former railroads are now part of Union Pacific.
