MISCELLANEOUS ROUTES

Some of these routes have been operated directly by Pace, others by contract operators, often school bus companies. Some of these routes were subsequently discontinued.

Pace Contract Operations
Overview of some of the privately owned bus companies, notably school bus operations, which provided bus service for Pace under contract.


754 - Lewis University-CTA Blue Line - introduced 8/13/2018, providing express service between the CTA Blue Line Clinton Station and Lewis University. Operated by Pace Heritage Division. Service suspended in 2020 due to covid-19 pandemic.

755 - Plainfield-Illinois Medical District - introduced 11/30/2009, providing commuter express service between Plainfield and Illinois Medical District. Operated under contract by Keeshin Charter Service/Coach USA, around 2012, direct operation assumed by Pace through its Heritage Division.

757 - Northwest Connection - introduced 12/10/90. Operated under contract by Valley Transit/Hodgkins, which became Vancom, using motor coaches furnished by carrier. In late 1990's, direct operation assumed by Pace through its West Division. Service suspended effective 5/18/2020 due to covid-19 pandemic.

760-763 - Oak Brook Circulators - four circulator routes introduced 11/21/88 in Oak Brook with routes #760 and #762 discontinued 9/18/89, and routes #761 and #763 discontinued 5/11/90. Operated under contract by Westway Coach.

767 - Congress-Douglas-Prairie Stone - introduced 8/3/92, after relocation of Sears headquarters to the Prairie Stone complex, operating to and from CTA terminals at Forest Park and 54th/Cermak. Operated under contract by Neal's Bus Co. until 1996, operated by Pauline Transportation until 1997, operated by Colonial Coach until 2000, then operated directly by Pace through its West Division. Discontinued 2/7/2010.

768 - Bolingbrook/Burr Ridge-Soldier Field Express - introduced 8/18/2006, special route operating for Chicago Bears games. Operated by Pace Southwest Division.

769 - Palos Heights/Oak Lawn-Soldier Field Express - introduced 8/18/2006, special route operating for Chicago Bears games. Operated by Pace Southwest Division.

770-772/778 - Brookfield Zoo - initially three summer express routes introduced 5/26/2014 between various CTA terminals and Brookfield Zoo. Route #770 serving the Green Line Harlem terminal and the Blue Line Forest Park terminal, route #771 serving the Pink Line 54th/Cermak terminal, and route #772 serving the Red Line 95th/Dan Ryan terminal. Route #778 was introduced 6/4/2016 between rotating locations on Chicago's northwest side and Brookfield Zoo. This was the first dedicated service to Brookfield Zoo since summers from 1980 to 1988, when route #333 existed, serving the same stations as route #770. Routes #770-#771/#778 operated by Pace West Division, route #772 operated by Pace Southwest Division. Routes #770-#771/#778 service suspended during covid-19 pandemic.

773 - Markham/Tinley Park-White Sox Express - introduced 4/14/2006, special route operating for Chicago White Sox games. Operated by Pace South Division. Service suspended in 2020 due to covid-19 pandemic.

774 - Palos Heights/Oak Lawn-White Sox Express - introduced 5/3/2006, special route operating for Chicago White Sox games. Operated by Pace Southwest Division. Service suspended in 2020 due to covid-19 pandemic.

776 - Yorktown-Soldier Field Express - introduced 9/1/2005, special route operating for Chicago Bears games. Operated by Pace West Division.

779 - Yorktown-Wrigley Field Express - 4/8/2005, special route operating for Chicago Cubs games. Operated by Pace West Division. Service suspended in 2020 due to covid-19 pandemic.
