ROUTES 470-476

HIGHLAND PARK

The village of Highland Park introduced the "Highland Park Highlander" routes, and continues to operate the routes in behalf of Pace.

470 - Deerfield-Riverwoods - short lived reverse feeder route between Deerfield Metra station and Riverwoods on Lake Cook Road, absorbed as rush hour extension of route #471 on 6/15/92, subsequently replaced with the "Shuttle Bug" routes.

471 - Highland Park-Northbrook Court - introduced 2/2/76, the year which Northbrook Court Mall opened. Similar to present route, but original routing east of Route 41 was via Park Ave. Revised to present route 8/25/86 via Central Ave., with route #473 assuming the Park Ave. segment. Routes #213 had previously operated between Highland Park station and Deerfield station, this rerouting made this route #213 segment redundant, and it was discontinued.

473 - Highland Park-Northbrook Court - introduced 2/2/76 between Highland Park station and Northbrook Court, mainly via Central Ave. and Ridge Rd. Effective 8/25/86, revised to operate east of Route 41 mainly via Park Ave. Route #471 meanwhile was revised to operate via Central Ave. Discontinued 10/31/2011, with service on Park Ave. assumed by route #472, and service on Ridge Rd. assumed by route #471.
