Intercity trains operated until the formation of Amtrak in 1971, with Gary La Porte and South Bend the only surviving stations when passenger service was discontinued. Amtrak restored service in 1975, using the South Shore Line station in South Bend.

Indiana Harbor (502.9) - station was located at Regent St. and Watling St.
Gary (496.0) - Union Station was located at 257 Broadway, immediately north of the Indiana Toll Road. The remains of the station are visible from the Indiana Toll Road and the South Shore Line station. Station was shared with Baltimore & Ohio.
Chesterton (481.1) - station was located west of Calumet Rd., on the south side of the tracks. The station building still stands.
La Porte (463.4) - station was located west of Michigan Ave., on the south side of the tracks. The station building still stands.
New Carlisle (450.1) - station was located east of Arch St., on the south side of the tracks.
South Bend (436.7) - Union Station was located at 506 W. South St., in 1929 replacing the former New York Central station at the same location. The station building still stands. Station was shared with Grand Trunk Western.
Mishawaka (432.7) - station was located at the south end of Mill St., on the north side of the tracks.
Osceola - station was located at the north end of St. Joseph St., on the south side of the tracks. The station building still stands.
