Prior to 1945, the various Trailways companies used this station, and Greyhound and its partner companies instead used the bus station across 63rd St. at 6270 S. Stony Island Ave. Both stations were proximate to the Jackson Park elevated terminal. Station closed in 1969, coinciding with the opening of the CTA Dan Ryan Line, and the establishment of a new Greyhound station there.

Earlier listings included addresses at 4338 W. Madison St. prior to 1945, and 4354 W. Madison St. from 1945 to 1950. Station closed in 1967, replaced with flag stop at CTA turnaround at Jackson Blvd. and Austin Blvd. The flag stop was discontinued in 1983.

Served Cardinal Lines, which in 1945 began operating between Chicago and Janesville WI, and ceased operations in 1952. Station was immediately north of Western Ave. station on Ravenswood (now Brown) elevated line.
