Dahringer Bus & Taxi Co.
Began operations in 1926.
Operated from Traverse City to Ludington, Petoskey, and Big Rapids.
Route from Traverse City to Petoskey had originally been introduced by Safety Motor Coach Lines. That route was isolated from the rest of the Safety Motor Coach Lines network south of Ludington. Safety Motor Coach Lines later became part of Greyhound, which during 1950's and 1960's operated all service between Ludington and Petoskey primarily via US Hwy. 31.
Finally formed a route from Holland MI to Sault Ste. Marie., primarily via US Hwy. 31, and routes from Grand Rapids to Fort Wayne and Lansing.
In 1972, acquired route from the following company:
Short Way Lines
Operated from Lansing to Jackson and Toledo.
In 1984 North Star Lines merged with Short Way Lines, forming Shortway North Star Lines. Operated until 1988, with replacement service initially operated by Greyhound, after 1990 by Indian Trails.
