Except in vicinity of Union Station, line is grade separated through Austin Ave.


Grade crossings continue to exist on former route north of Union Station, downgraded to industrial trackage.

Ordinance for elevation of Chicago & North Western from Sangamon St. to Diversey Ave. via Milwaukee Division, and to Wood St. via Wisconsin Division, and elevation of Milwaukee Road Bloomingdale Line from Elston Ave. to Ashland Ave. Deadline for completion May 1, 1900.

Ashland Ave. to Lawndale Ave.
June 27, 1910
Ordinance for elevation of Milwaukee Road Bloomingdale Line from Ashland Ave. to Lawndale Ave. Ordinance also for raising of Metropolitan West Side Elevated Railway bridge at Milwaukee Ave. over this railroad. Deadline for completion June 27, 1915.

Passenger service eventually shifted to Milwaukee Road Milwaukee Division from Union Station to Pacific Jct./Tower A-5.

Lawndale Ave. to 40th Ave.
February 21, 1898
Ordinance for elevation of Milwaukee Road Milwaukee Division from Spaulding Ave. to Irving Park Rd., for elevation of Milwaukee Road Council Bluffs Division from Lawndale Ave. to 40th Ave. (now Pulaski Rd.), and elevation of Chicago & North Western Mayfair Cutoff from Milwaukee Ave. to Irving Park Rd. Deadline for completion May 1, 1900.

40th Ave. to 51st Ave.
January 13, 1902
Ordinance for elevation of Milwaukee Road Council Bluffs Division from 40th Ave. (now Pulaski Rd.) to 51st Ave. (now Leclaire Ave.), for elevation of Chicago & North Western Mayfair Cutoff from 40th Ave. (now Pulaski Rd.) to Milwaukee Ave., and elevation of Belt Railway of Chicago from Grand Ave. to Kinzie St. Deadline for completion December 31, 1906.
