CLASSIC TRACK DIAGRAMS

PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD

Fort Wayne Division (West)

Four tracks existed between Whiting and Englewood, with the north pair for passenger trains and the south pair for freight trains. By the early 1980's, line was abandoned between Buffington and Whiting, with traffic shifted to paralleling former New York Central main line. Line remains in use as a main line west of Whiting, as an extension of former New York Central main line. Mileposts were changed on that segment to reflect distance from Buffalo, instead of Pittsburgh.
