The Milwaukee Road eventually became part of Canadian Pacific, which has always named its subdivisions. The Milwaukee Road formerly numbered its subdivisions within each division. And during the Milwaukee Road's final years, as divisions were consolidated and eliminated, subdivisions were continually being assigned new numbers.
