Not included are routes created more recently by SEPTA. Discontinued route numbers are in parentheses.
Most remaining streetcar routes are those "Subway-Surface" routes, operating underneath Market Street to City Hall.
Streetcar service on route 15 was replaced with buses in 1992. But streetcar service was resumed in 2005, using rebuilt PCC cars. Streetcar track and overhead wire remains in place on routes 23 and 56, although no immediate plans exist to resume streetcar service.
All trolleybus service was suspended in 2003, with trolleybus service restored in 2009 on routes 59, 66, and 75.
Effective 11/29/2015, the long 23 route was split at Center City, with the south segment becoming route 45.

(14th St. is instead Broad St.) And at one time, nearly all of those streets between 2nd St. and 23rd St. had streetcar routes. Although streets were generally one way. With lower numbers east of Broad St., odd numbers run north and even numbers run south. And with higher numbers west of Broad St., even numbers run north and odd numbers run south. In more recent years, certain routes were reconfigured to skip some of these streets.
