Alternate route between Harvard and Janesville, via Beloit, basically formed by the remnants of two lines which had crossed south of Caledonia. Line west of Harvard had extended to Rockford, abandoned west of Caledonia around 1939. Other line had been built north of Belvidere to Beloit, abandoned south of Caledonia. Line north of Beloit originally built to Madison, bypassing Janesville, and passing through Footville north of Afton.
