NORTH CAROLINA (GREENSBORO/HIGH POINT/WINSTON-SALEM)

Mostly a sampling of bus companies listed in the 1952 Mass Transportation's Directory.


THE MOST OBSCURE BUS COMPANIES

Gate City Transit Lines - served Greensboro and suburbs.

Safeway Suburban Line - suburban service in Reidsville.

Tri-City Transportation Co. - served Leaksville, Spray, Draper.

City Transit Co. - served High Point and suburbs.

Suburban Bus Lines - served High Point and suburbs.

Forsyth Transit Lines - in 1949 succeeded Suburban Bus Lines, which had succeeded Independent Bus Lines, connected Winston-Salem with Rural Hall, Lewisville, Clemons, Bethania, Mt. Tabor, ceased operations in late 1950's.

Twin City Lines - connected Winston-Salem with Walkerton, Kernersville, Stanleyville, acquired in 1956 by Winston-Salem City Coach Lines.
