SAMPLE TRAIN ORDERS
ILLINOIS CENTRAL
In 1975, the Illinois Central main line was poorly run, with a pathetic on time record for Amtrak. This order provided for a segment of left hand running, restricted to 55 mph instead of the customary 90 mph with cab signals for normal right hand running. This was before Amtrak received any F40PH locomotives, Engine 344 was a former Burlington E8. The train order paper was originally green, faded over time.
