This was really #51, the Cardinal, after the C&O and former Erie route through Hammond IN was downgraded, and the train used a segment of a former Pere Marquette branch, lacking signaling. The train left the C&O main line at La Crosse IN, and connected with the B&O main line at Wellsboro.
