AMERICA'S STREAMLINERS
SEABOARD AIR LINE
(PRE WW II)
During 1939 and 1940, gradually acquired enough cars to be able to operate separate daily Silver Meteor trains between New York and Miami or Tampa/St. Petersburg during peak seasons. Although during most of year operated a single Silver Meteor train, split at Wildwood. Consist apparently varied according to season. Also unclear is the history of sleeping car service on these pre war streamliners. But heavyweight sleepers were evidently used, with few records on them and not mentioned on this page.
Only streamlined trains and the most important stations are shown.
