AMERICA'S STREAMLINERS

PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD

(PRE WW II)

The Pennsylvania Railroad's most famous train was the Broadway Limited, operating between Chicago and New York and rivaling the New York Central's Twentieth Century Limited. This was the Pennsylvania Railroad's first streamlined train, with a few more trains streamlined before World War II, although still with steam locomotives. The South Wind was one of three all coach streamliners operating every third day over different routings between Chicago and Miami. Overall, one streamliner was leaving Chicago or Miami each day.

Only streamlined trains and the most important stations are shown.
