Chicago Railways substation located behind the former cable car powerhouse on La Salle St., which also still stands. Continues to feed CTA rail lines, although a new replacement substation is planned a short distance southwest.

New substation under construction for the Brown Line, which has experienced ridership growths in recent years, and recently underwent a modernization program including the lengthening of platforms. Today's air conditioned 8 car trains require more power, than the 6 car non air conditioned trains typically operating 25 years earlier.

This old substation, along the north side of the Brown Line, is now an art studio.

This newer substation is located west of the old substation, and is underneath the Brown Line elevated structure which is wide enough to have previously supported four tracks.

Now a regular Commonwealth Edison substation, located a short distance west of the Brown Line. Nearby, the Brown Line is now fed by the Grace substation, which is difficult to access due to private property in the area.

Located along the south side of the Brown Line.
