This original Michigan Central main line had crossed the New York Central main line at Porter (CP 482). In 1957, all Michigan Central passenger trains were shifted to the New York Central route west of Porter. Proposals for this line are to reconfigure the trackage at Porter, enabling a direct connection with the former Pere Marquette Grand Rapids Subdivision, as part of the new post-Conrail CSX.
