On the line from Amsterdam and Haarlem to Den Haag and Rotterdam. Immediately south of the station, a line diverges east to Alphen a/d Rijn Woerden and Utrecht. The main line through Leiden now has four tracks. North of Leiden, two of those tracks diverge northeast on a flyover to become the "Schiphollijn" (Schiphol Line), serving Schiphol Airport. The main northbound platform is between Track 4 and Track 5, and the main southbound platform is between Track 8 and Track 9. Between Track 5 and Track 8 are two main express tracks for trains not stopping. South of the station, a platform serves Track 1 and Track 2, stub tracks for the terminating trains between Leiden and Utrecht.
