NS TRAIN SERVICES AND STATIONS

HAARLEM

A short distance west of Amsterdam, and the capital of Noord Holland province. On the line from Amsterdam to Rotterdam. Immediately west of the station, the line to Rotterdam turns south towards Leiden. Also west of the station, a line proceeds west to Zandvoort. And another line diverges north to Uitgeest, where it joins the line from Amsterdam to Alkmaar and Den Helder. The main eastbound tracks are Track 1 and Track 3, and the main westbound tracks are Track 6 and Track 8. A wide center platform is between Track 3 and Track 6. The west end of the platform forks into two narrower platforms, between those platforms is Track 4 and Track 5. These are stub tracks used by terminating trains.
