This commuter operation previously had many local stations within Chicago. But many of those stations were eventually discontinued.

Stations capitalized and without commentary are present Metra stations, further information on stations at official Metra Web Site.

Milepost locations are indicated, distance from Chicago, except for stations which closed earlier.

Exact locations are not available for all stations.


Right of way is elevated from Chicago to Gresham.

No timetables could be found showing the local stops between Chicago and Englewood. It is not known whether local trains were operated by Rock Island, or New York Central which had shared that route.

CHICAGO/LA SALLE STREET STATION (0.0)

22nd Street - was a stop during early 1900's.

31st Street - early station was located on the north side of 31st St. west of Federal St., on the east side of the tracks.

43rd Street - early station was located on the north side of 43rd St. west of Federal St., on the west side of the tracks, and east of some yard tracks.

51st Street - early station was located on the north side of 51st St. west of Federal St., on the east side of the tracks.

Garfield Boulevard - early station was located on the south side of 51st St. west of Perry Ave., on the east side of the tracks.

Englewood (6.7) - station was located on south side of 63rd St., east of the Pennsylvania Railroad/Rock Island crossing, discontinued in 1978.

65th Street - early station was located at the northeast corner of 65th St. and Wentworth Ave., on the west side of the tracks.

Normal Park (7.2) - station was located on the west side of Yale Ave. south of Marquette Rd., on the east side of the tracks, discontinued in 1960's.

Hamilton Park (7.8) - station was located north of 72nd St., on the east side of the tracks, discontinued in 1982.

Auburn Park (8.6) - station was located at the northwest corner of 78th St. and Fielding Ave., on the east side of the tracks, discontinued in 1978.

83rd Street - early station was located on the north side of 83rd St., on the east side of the tracks.

GRESHAM (9.8)

LONGWOOD MANOR-95TH STREET (10.9) - station was previously located north of 95th St., on the east side of the tracks.

Longwood Manor-99th Street (11.4) - station was located north of 99th St., on the east side of the tracks, discontinued in 1984.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS (12.0)

Givins (12.9) - earlier station was located on the north side of 111th St. west of Laflin Ave., on the east side of the tracks. A later station was constructed south of 111th St. on the west side of Marshfield Ave., on the east side of the tracks, discontinued in 1984. Construction of Interstate Highway 57 may have affected the station location.
