Map shows streetcar routes in Aurora, along with interurban lines operating from Aurora. The Aurora Elgin and Fox River Electric Co. also operated interurban lines north to Geneva and Elgin, and south to Yorkville. In addition, the Chicago Aurora and Elgin Railroad, the Chicago Aurora and De Kalb Railroad, and the Aurora Plainfield and Joliet Railway used AE&FR trackage to enter Aurora.

The streetcar system in Aurora eventually evolved into the present Pace bus system. There is little similarity between the streetcar system and the present Pace local bus route system. The interurban route north to Geneva evolved into the present Pace route 802.
