In 1971, the Greater Lafayette Public Transportation Corporation became responsible for all transit lines in the Lafayette area. The last streetcars ran in 1940.


LAFAYETTE TRANSIT HISTORY

In 1869, the Street Railroad Co. of Lafayette introduced horse car service in Lafayette. For many years, the streetcar system was part of the Lafayette Street Railway Co.
