Jack Rabbit Lines began operations in 1922, and subsequently acquired the following companies:

Red Ball Lines
Acquired in 1947. Was affiliated with Palace City Bus Line (below).

Original route: Mitchell-Huron-Pierre.

Palace City Bus Line
Acquired in 1948.

Original route: Sioux Falls-Mitchell-Bonesteel.

Swanson Bus Lines
Began operations in 1927, acquired in 1955. From 1948 to 1955 was one of three companies operating as Kyote Lines.

Original routes: several directions from Aberdeen.

Rapid City Lines
Acquired in 1955. From 1948 to 1955 was one of three companies operating as Kyote Lines.

Original route: Pierre-Rapid City.

Black Hills Lines
Began operations in 1943, acquired in 1950 by Rapid City Lines (above). From 1948 to 1955 was one of three companies operating as Kyote Lines.

Original route: Rapid City-Redfield.

Inter City Bus Line
Began operations in 1924, acquired in 1971.

Original route: Sioux City-Yankton-Mitchell.

Custer Highway Transportation Co.
Acquired in 1950 by Inter City Bus Line (above).

Original route: Mitchell-Rapid City.

Jack Rabbit Lines sold 2000 to Jefferson Lines.
