DAYTON TRANSIT ROUTES

CONCISE HISTORY

In 1972, the publicly owned Miami Valley Regional Transit Authority (MVRTA) acquired the privately owned Akron City Transit Co. In 2003, MVRTA was renamed Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (GDRTA). This page lists Metro routes which can trace their histories back to privately ownership. Some routes were eventually discontinued by MVRTA or GDRTA. Other routes were restructured going into the 21st Century, and are identified using the more recent numbers and names. And since its formation MVRTA or GDRTA added several new bus routes, which are not listed.
