EAST LAKE
10 E. Lake St. (near State St.)

Opened in 1925, rectifiers 60 hertz.

Originally installed 4 3,000 kilowatt rectifiers, total 12,000 kilowatts.

Still a CTA substation.


EAST 63RD
6249 S. Prairie Ave.

Opened in 1910's.

Still a CTA substation.


HAYMARKET
125 N. Desplaines Ave. (near Randolph St.)

Replaced around mid 1970's by new CTA substation immediately north.


LAWNDALE
1615 N. Lawndale Ave. (near North Ave.)

Closed 1952.
Building sold, remains standing, in use as an automobile shop.


OHIO
362 W. Ohio St. (near Orleans St.)

Closed 1952.
Building demolished due to expressway construction.


40TH STREET
626 East 40th St. (near Langley Ave.)

Opened in 1931.

Closed 1953.

Building remains standing.


CICERO
5210 W. Cermak Rd./Cicero

Opened in 1924.

Originally installed 1 1,500 kilowatt rotary converter, total 1,500 kilowatts.

Remains a Commonwealth Edison substation


FARWELL
6912 N. Glenwood Ave.

Opened in 1929.

Possible substation for rapid transit but not confirmed.
Building sold 1985, remains standing, in use as theater.

New Farwell substation constructed 2013.


WAVELAND
1838 W. Waveland Ave. (near Lincoln Ave.)

Possible substation for rapid transit but not confirmed.
Remains a Commonwealth Edison substation

New Grace substation constructed around 2007.


27TH STREET
2638 S. Wabash Ave.

Possible substation for rapid transit but not confirmed.
Remains a Commonwealth Edison substation
