Duquesne Inclined Plane Co. - incorporated 1876, opened 1877. STILL OPERATING.

Fort Pitt Inclined Plane Co. - incorporated 1881, opened 1882. Closed 1900's.

Knoxville Inclined Plane Co. - opened 1890, closed 1960.

Monongahela Inclined Plane Passenger Railway - incorporated 1867, opened 1870. STILL OPERATING.

Mount Oliver Incline Railway - opened 1980's, leased 1891 to Pittsburgh & Birmingham Traction Co. Leased 1902 by by United Traction Co./Pittsburgh Railways. Closed 1951.

Pennsylvania Incline Plane Railway - incorporated 1889, opened 1890, leased 1891 to Pittsburgh & Birmingham Traction Co. Reorganized 1905 to Seventeenth Street Incline Plane Co. Closed 1953.

Saint Clair Incline Plane - incorporated 1885, opened 1889. Closed 1935.

Troy Hill Inclined Plane Co. - incorporated 1887, in 1888 acquired Thirtieth Street Bridge Co. and renamed Troy Hill Inclined Plane & Bridge Co. Closed 1898.

Additional inclines existed, including ones transporting freight.
