KENOSHA STREETCAR CIRCULATOR

A visit to the line on September 25, 2000, three months after opening. One streetcar is normally operated at a time, on this day car 4609 would do the honors. The single track line operates in a one way loop, east on 56th St., north through the new Harborpark development at the lakefront, west on 54th St., and south on 11th Ave. to 56th St.

The new transit center in Kenosha, with car 4609 to the right, several buses to the left, and the car house at the far left. View is looking east along 54th St., east of Sheridan Rd.

Car 4609 rounds the curve near the Metra station near 54th St., and is turning south along 11th Ave.

Looking south along 2nd Ave. from 54th St., car 4609 is seen heading east along 56th St., in the developing Harborpark area.

At the east end of the line near Lake Michigan, car 4609 rounds the curve and heads west, paralleling 54th St. to the north.

Car 4609 is stopped at the Kenosha transit center, with the car house in the background.

Also outside the car house at the time was car 4615, painted in a Johnstown PA paint scheme, similar to what PCC cars might have looked like in Milwaukee and Kenosha, had those systems actually operated PCC cars.

Car 4615 is about to enter the car house.
