In 1996, Amtrak's Southwest Chief began using the former Burlington Northern line between Chicago and Galesburg, and continues to use this line west of there. The Galesburg connection is actually made at CP 1844 and CP 1850, which is a wye with a connecting track to and from the former Burlington Northern line. The Burlington Northern line actually crosses under the Santa Fe line near Cameron, a short distance west.
