New York Public Service Commission/Early Certificates of Convenience and Necessity
The availability of information from the New York Public Service Commission is more thorough, than the availability of similar information for most other states. Including for the issuance of each Certificate of Convenience and Necessity. For most bus companies listed below, a year is indicated for when that company began operations.
Additional bus companies, listed as existing during 1930's, are mentioned in the WPA American Guide Series of state guidebooks. But these companies were not listed in the New York Public Service Commission reports.
Suburban and interurban bus companies listed in the Russell's Official National Motor Coach Guide, which was primarily a resource for intercity bus lines.
